Syscob Tools Repository

This page acts as the “index” for a small collection of tools, wizards and utilities to be used in conjunction only with the Syscob Export-It and/or Export-It Plus export applications.  These downloads are grouped into Categories, as at right, to ease locating a desired program.

Click on the icon or the program name in the lists below to download.  Except for Collection Tools (which may be run from the web) all of these programs must be downloaded to be run locally under the application user logon.


“Icon & Rego” Tools

Apply to all Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or later machines that run Export-It or Export-It Plus.  This utility will “link” the user and Administrators group tokens to give the user “admin” privileges and adjust policies for User Access Control [UAC] restrictions.  Simply download this file and then run it (a confirmation dialog may need to be answered to allow it to run) in order to grant the user their “admin” privileges.

WARNINGeConsent must be run before “Icon & Rego” tools for Windows Vista, Server 2008, 7, 8 or later!

Export-It “Icon & Rego”

“Registers” Export-It application and creates user shortcuts.  Must be run under application user logon which must have “administrative” privileges (including write and create permissions for Windows® directory and Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive).

SeatUser

Define a user “seat” to enable access to Export-It and Export-It Plus applications.  Must be run under application user logon which must have “administrative” privileges (including write and create permissions for Windows® directory and Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive).

“Registers” ActiveX servers used for Secure EDI [SEDI] communications.  Must be run under application user logon which must have “administrative” privileges (including full permissions for Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive).

Archive with Export-It ActiveX servers used for Secure EDI [SEDI] communications.  Must be extracted into the \ExportIt\VDF7\ folder on the “local” drive of the SEDI machine.  Only needed when RegChilkat.bat cannot find the ActiveX servers.

Export-It Plus “Icon & Rego”

Requires access to “windows” folder to enable printer selection for print spooling.  Must be run under application user logon which must have “administrative” privileges (including write permissions) for Windows® directory.  Save this executable in “local” \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.


WARNING – Only applicable to Export-It versions prior to G-35 and Windows® versions prior to Vista or Server 2008!

Collection Tools

eProvide
eProvide.exe

Collects diagnostic files for Export-It and/or Export-It Plus for submission to Syscob Support (who may ask it be run to collected needed information).  Must be saved into the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.  Must be run under application user logon—not as Administrator or other IT staff logon.  Do not run this tool from the web!

Includes all of the capabilities of the “zip” tools which follow plus additional capabilities.  Collected files will be archived and then uploaded to Syscob via FTP with a notification email sent to Syscob Support.

Collects Export-It “logs” for submission to Syscob Support.  Must be run under application user logon and all parts of collected “spanned” archive sent to Syscob.
May be run from the web.

Collects Export-It “data” files for submission to Syscob Support.  Must be run under application user logon and all parts of collected “spanned” archive sent to Syscob.  If database is submitted for repair then Export-It must not be used until the repaired files are returned!

Collects Export-It Plus “data” files for submission to Syscob Support.  Must be run under application user logon and all parts of collected “spanned” archive sent to Syscob.  If database is submitted for repair then Export-It Plus must not be used until the repaired files are returned!

Collects Export-It “SPAM” emails (those not from an EDI partner or not in SEDI format) for submission to Syscob Support for analysis.  Must be run under application user logon and all parts of collected “spanned” archive sent to Syscob.

Support Tools

eSupport
eSupport.exe

Diagnostic wizard to collect necessary information, based on issues encountered, for Syscob Support to diagnose any problems and indicate actions needed to correct them.  Generates an eSupport.zip archive (which contains only text files) and offers the user a choice of automatic submission to Syscob, via email or FTP, or identifies the file for the user to make a manual submission.  Must be saved into the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.

SupportTools
SupportTools.zip

Archive containing eSupport and other associated libraries and tools.  Must be extracted onto the “root” of the Export-It “local” drive (so that contents go into the in the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder) if using an “unzip” utility or, when Windows Explorer opens this, it will show only the new files for the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.  Allow these files to replace existing files with the same names.

Windows® “security” analysis tool to collect, without affecting, the security environment.  Must be run under application user logon.  May be run as a “command” in a Command Prompt window ( do “eSecurity ?” for parameters) or interactively by running without parameters (i.e. by double-click in Windows Explorer).  Creates a detailed log which can be interpreted by inhouse IT or emailed to Syscob Support for analysis when requested.  Should be saved into the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.

ePrinter
ePrinter.exe

Evaluates, without affecting, the print spooling environment for Syscob Export-It and Export-It Plus applications.  Must be run under application user logon.  The “ePrinter.log” file it produces may be emailed to Syscob Support for analysis.  Should be saved into the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.

eShortcut

Evaluates, without affecting, the shortcuts [“shell links”] used to run Syscob Export-It and Export-It Plus applications.  Must be run under application user logon.  The “Shortcut.ini” and “eShortcut.log” files it produces may be emailed to Syscob Support for analysis.  Should be saved into the “local” drive \ExportIt\VDF7 folder.


Diagnostic Tools

Analyzes Windows® “locale” and format settings against the requirements for Australian export software.  When location is not Australia provides instructions for resolving issue and can also correct improper currency and/or date format settings for Australia.  Download must be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.

Security
Security.exe

Ever wonder what Windows® tells an application about its environment?  32 or 64 bit?  Or information about memory, disks, display and software?  This utility shows what Syscob software “sees” and logs it plus creates an Security.ini file with what an IT support person will want to know about the execution context presented to the user task by Windows® (which may have a bit of “pork” in the mix).  Download must be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.

eInvoice

Analyzes and displays “maintenance code” settings for the current Export-It maintenance invoice.  Shows remaining support period for all types of EDI documents.  Download must be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.

eAttempt
eAttempt.exe

Diagnostic and test wizard for Export-It Secure EDI [SEDI] communications.  Download must be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.  Must be run under the “SEDI user” logon.

eTraffic
eTraffic.exe

Analyzes Export-It Secure EDI [SEDI] traffic.  Allows selection of period and type of EDI documents (and/or SPAM emails) to be analyzed.  Can save results as “tab-delimited text” for submission to Syscob or import into a spreadsheet or database program.  Download must be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.


Backup & Restore Tools

Utility that will restore Export-It shortcuts on the user Desktop and in the Start button Programs menu.  Download should be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder of the “local” drive.

eProtect
eProtect.exe

Application backup wizard for Export-It and/or Export-It Plus installations.  Allows selection of either, or both when both installed, syscob applications and either, or both, “local” and “server” drive(s).  Not required for versions E-32 or later; which include it.  Download should be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folders on both the “local” and “server” drive(s).

Application wizard to restore Export-It and/or Export-It Plus backups taken with the eProtect wizard [above].  Not required for versions E-32 or later; which include it.  Download should be saved into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folders on both the “local” and “server” drive(s).


Customs Digital Certificates

Archive containing three [3] Digital Certificates for Australian Customs Service required for Secure EDI [SEDI] communications with the Integrated Cargo System [ICS].  Should be extracted to the \ExportIt\VDF7\CMR_DC folders on both “server” and “local” drives.  Or the certificates can be downloaded individually:

After download and extraction these three [3] certificates must be “registered” for SEDI use (as well as the site Gatekeeper TYPE 3 CA digital certificate) by the Export-It Certificate Manager (ExpCertM.exe) program on the “SEDI machine”.

Export-It CertView Installer
InstallCertView.exe

Installs a digital certificate utility application that employs the Microsoft Cryptographic API 2.1 [CAPICOM2] interface, installs CAPICOM when necessary, and creates user shortcuts.  Must be run under application user logon which must have “administrative” privileges (including write and create permissions for Windows® directory and Registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive).

CertView allows viewing, inserting or removing SEDI Digital Certificates from the Local Machine Certificate Store.  Useful for Gatekeeper Type 3 CA (site “device” certificates) affected by the VeriSign download “bug” that affected private key storage by Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9 (corrected by VeriSign in January 2011).  Also useful whenever the Secure EDI Output Processor log [ExpProcO.log] reports a “Keyset” error.


Registry Fixes

Apply to any Windows edition, server or workstation, that either runs Export-It or Export-It Plus or publishes the share that is mapped as a “server” drive by a Syscob application.  This Registry “fix” will disable opportunistic locking and read caching as decribed in the DataAccess “Opportunistic Locking and Read Caching on Microsoft Windows Networks” white paper.  Simply download this file and then double-click it (answer the confirmation dialog to allow it to apply) in order to disable opportunistic locking and read caching.

BFE_fix.reg

Apply to any computer, server or workstation, which is used for Syscob Export-It on Windows 7 or Server 2008.  This Registry “fix” will change Registry use for saving persistent environment settings (like window size and position).  Simply download this file and then double-click it (answer the confirmation dialog to allow it to apply) in order to repair the “Bad format of expression” issue.


Export-It Plus “logo” Fix

Utility to repair “logo” on Export-It Plus documents.  This repair is intended for Windows Vista, 7, 2008 or later operating software.  Simply download this utility and run it (a confirmation dialog may need to be answered to allow it to run) under the user logon where “logos” do not print to restore “logos” which have stopped printing.


Misc. Utilities

eUnblock
eUnblock.exe

Tool to remove Microsoft default “block” imposed on downloaded files from the web.  It will “unblock” all, or selected, files in a chosen directory.  See FAQ: eUnblock downloads for how to use this utility—since it may need to be manually “unblocked” before use when downloaded.

Switcher
Switcher.exe

Application context switcher for Syscob, and other, applications using the DataFlex DBMS environment.  This tool is intended for sites which may run non-Syscob applications that use DataFlex (e.g. Arrow™ accounting) or those with multiple Syscob application databases (such as freight forwarders).  See Switcher: Concepts & Introduction for details.

Stripper
Stripper.exe

Can “strip” column(s) with container number and/or seals from a “comma separated values” [CSV] file (which can be saved from a spreadsheet).  The resulting “stripped” table can then be saved for import into an RFP.  Very useful for exports with a large number of containers.

eContainer
eContainer.exe

Validates a container number against the ISO 6436:1995(E) Standard Container Number international standard.  Includes owner, category, serial number, check digit and optional size, type and country codes.

eVoyages
eVoyages.exe

Tool to retrieve schedules for Australian ports (with caching for times when web is “down”).  Shows vessels, voyages, Lloyds [IMHO] numbers, and estimated (or arrived) dates for all Australian ports.  Save this executable into the \ExportIt\VDF7 folder on both the shared “server” drive and workstation “local” drive of any machine which wishes to use it.

WARNING – The provider of public access voyage information used by this utility has closed operation!
